Back to school!

The summer break has ended, and as I have been working on commissions and college tasks all summer I can't say I feel refreshed,  but I have enjoyed a weekend in Wales,  and a visit to the UK Wolf Watch centre in Shropshire.
This week was the start of the new year at Uni and I have spent the last three days registering/enrolling etc and generally getting back into the swing of things. Once again I have mixed feelings about whether I am suited to the (mature) 'student' thing, and I am already having sleepless nights, my time management skills are far from perfect and I always struggle with the amount of work. A new project has been set which I will update on in a day or so, but in the meantime..........

I took Oskar out for a long walk this morning which we both enjoyed (he even went for a swim ) he tore a cruciate ligament about 18 months ago and his exercise has been limited to the garden since then, he is still limping intermittently but seems a lot more comfortable recently so we will see how it goes........

I also took a couple of pics of a kestrel (unfortunately my camera lens is not quite strong enough to get much detail at this distance, but still worth a look, and also a couple of nice shots of a Great Crested Grebe.
I am keeping my fingers crossed that he continues to improve as I have really missed my walks and although I stopped partially for his benefit and also because I no longer have Kess, I now feel ready to get back to a routine.

Fingers crossed for Oskar's contined improvement - looks as though he's having fun in the water!

Did you get to visit the SOFA exhibition after all?

Hi Sue,
yes I did, I went on the weds after we got back from Powys, so was totally wiped wiped afterwards but really enjoyed it, I showed my sister your wonderful ragdoll cat (she was very impressed). The work was stunning so many excellent artists.
I capitulated and did my review on the Chapman brothers exhibition at whitechapel in the end as it was much more controversial and I could be totally objective, so it was more suitable for Uni. ;-)

It is good to visit different galleries and exhibition isn't it ... it opened my eyes to the standards you need to strive for and also what the gallery owners/juries are looking for. I agree that many of the pictures were just stunning.

Yes, I agree, we are required to do a certain amount of Gallery and Exhibition visits, but I love seeing a whole rage of different art work, so try to see smaller local venues as well as the bigger galleries, its great fun to see what everyone is up to ;-)

I hope Oskar continues to improve JRT's are always having knee problems:-( Milo has a luxating patella which sometimes gives him gyp but they are also tough little blighters so the swimming will do him a power of good.
Don't envy you going "back to school" ;-( can't imagine how you find the time!

Hi Kay
He's a bit sore today (limping again) but am going to try walking him every other day for a while, he is a typical terrier and as you know there is no way you can restrict them when out, he loves to run, climb and dig....so the only thing I can do is to keep the actual walks limited ;-)
re college, I do think maybe I have bitten off more than I can chew, perhaps it would have been sensible to have have considered part-time, but I am half way through now, just this next year to go, so I am just going to do my best and go with it.

I sure hope Oskar improves also. Our "new" little one has very mild luxating patellas but they don't seem to bother her at all.

You're a more determined person than I am with going back to school. Of course, being of retirement age anyway, sure sways my decision about that. I hope you get through with flying colors (pun intended!)
